About Successors of the Ryukyu Culinary Tradition

In Okinawa prefecture, those who hold certification of cooks or nutritionist with
work experience for 10 years or longer are certified as
“Successor of the Ryukyu Culinary Tradition”
by completing all curriculums of “Ryukyu Culinary supporter training course”.
They learn knowledge and techniques in order to deepen comprehensive understanding
of historical/geographical background, the origins of ceremonial cuisine and tableware,
as well as to succeed the cooking techniques and flavors.
Various efforts are made to contribute to succession to
the next generation and utilization as tourism resources.
